Since 1996, the Chinatown Manpower Project In-School Youth Program has provided students age 14-18 with computer training, SAT verbal and math tutoring, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, and summer employment placements. We teach them the multimedia skills they need to succeed either in college or in the workforce.
The Chinatown Manpower Project In-School Youth Program serves low income youth who lack access to technology training in New York Cityˇ¦s large public schools. The program serves two important functions: improving English language skills (English is not spoken in the majority of our participantsˇ¦ homes) while at the same time helping students become more proficient in multimedia applications. Together these tools help students complete difficult college admissions forms and also learn software programs that will assist them in both academic and workplace settings.
