The Refugee Social Service Program (RSSP)
Funded by the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), RSSP provides employment services to refugees and asylees in the States less than 5 years. The program assists eligible program participants by offering employment preparation, job placement and job retention services aimed to help them achieve family self-sufficiency. As the sole provider of refugee services in the Chinese community, CMP’s RSSP program has also enjoyed an excellent reputation—it is the go-to place for asylees in the community. Currently, our program serves more about 250 individuals a year.
The Educational Resource Program (ERP)
Funded by the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), ERP provides job skills training and placements services to refugees and asylees in the States less than 5 years. Currently, our program is following up on participants trained at CMP in prior years and helps to place them into jobs.
The Food Stamp Employment and Training Program (FSET)
Funded by OTDA, FSET provides food stamp recipients with vocational skills training in bookkeeping, computer, and work readiness skills, and assists them in obtaining full-time employment. Partnering with Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York and Chhaya, this new program serves more than 59 food stamp recipients per year and is in its 2nd year running.
The Unemployment Worker Training Program (UWT)
Funded by the NYS Department of Labor (DOL), UWT provides vocational training to unemployed New York residents and assists them in securing full-time employment. Since 2012, CMP has enrolled 65 unemployed workers into its Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program—a 145-hour certificate course approved by the NYS Department of Education. Upon successfully completing 105 hours of classroom/lab training and 30 hours of clinical internship, the trainees sit for the state licensure examination to become a licensed nurse aide in a field with great job growth.
CMP Tuition-based Programs
CMP offers one-on-one job placement assistance to all Vocational Training graduates. Graduates from CMP's Freight Forwarding Operations course, Certified Nurse Aide Training Program, Electrocardiography Technician Course and Phlebotomy Course can receive one-on-one job placement assistance from our dedicated Career Development staff and employer network.
