Programs_Targeted Assistance Grant Program (TAG)

The Chinatown Manpower Project Targeted Assistance Grant Program is a job training program aimed specifically at refugees and political asylees. In addition to the job training, clients also receive vocational English language skills and job readiness instruction.

Participants gain extensive, hands-on training in PC operations and applications, including Microsoft Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Access), and basic networking by using a state-of-the-art computer lab complete with high-speed T-1 connections. For many of our clients, their immediate need is to earn a living with or without receiving any training. To assist these clients, the Chinatown Manpower Project, Inc. Targeted Assistance Grant Program provides direct job placement services. In the past three years, we have successfully placed more than 175 walk-in clients directly into employment situations.
