Special Gathering for International Students

CMP CSSC is inviting all Chinese international students studying Social Work in NYC to join our special gathering which will be held on Saturday, October 15th, 11 AM - 1:30 PM, at CMP (55 Chrystie St., 2nd FL, New York, NY 10002)!

This gathering will be an informal and relaxed space where international students can:

  • share experiences

  • pose questions and ideas

  • give and seek peer support

  • connect with other Chinese international students in NYC

Free lunch and beverages will be provided.

A Dialogue to Address Racial Discrimination Distress Trauma

Have you experienced racial discrimination or anti-Asian hate crimes? Did you know how to handle it? Or if it ever happens to you, do you know how to handle it and deal with distress trauma?

Attend our online dialogue on Friday, May 27th, at 3 PM - 4 PM (EST) with our guest speaker Professor Lin Fang to talk about your experience and concerns about racial discrimination and/or anti-Asian hate crimes.

Support and Resources for International Students

Peer Talk Forum

CMP CSSC (Collegiate Student Service Center) will be hosting FREE Peer Talk Forums (中文海報on Friday, 11/12, at 4 PM and Saturday, 12/4, at 11 AM, as a safe and inclusive space for international college students to share ideas and information, and receive support and resources.

Studying abroad is exciting, but could also be challenging. If you are an international college student, and are experiencing challenges from intercultural adjustment, want to receive support and resources, or simply want to know more people and expand your network, attend the Peer Talk Forum!

Tree Hole Program

Not interested in the Peer Talk Forum but still want to tell your story, talk to someone about challenges you are facing, a situation you are dealing with, a bad mood you want to get rid of, or anything else? You can talk to us by writing to treehole@cmpny.org!

Our free Tree Hole中文海報is a peer support, information sharing, and referral-based program to provide support to international college students in the U.S.

We respect your privacy. While writing to us, you can use your first, middle, last, or nickname, or you can also be fully anonymous. Currently the Tree Hole is provided in English and Chinese.

Online Workshop - Break Into Individual Tax

CMP CSSC will be hosting an online workshop - Break Into Individual Tax, on Friday, June 25th, 1 - 2 PM to share with international students important information about filing individual tax in the U.S.

Health and Mental Health Workshops for International Students

In collaboration with NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, CMP Collegiate Student Service Center(CSSC) will present two workshops to international students to address the health and mental health challenges brought on by COVID-19.

Chinese Mandarin Session: Friday, March 26th, 9:30 am - 11 am

English Session: Friday, April 2nd, 11:30 am - 1 pm

Participants will learn:

  • the up-to-date fight against COVID-19 in NYC

  • health and mental health resources available in NYC every international student should know during the pandemic

  • how to stay physically and emotionally healthy

  • coping skills and the effects of trauma, stress and anxiety
