  • NYS has launched the new Excelsior Pass Plus to expand travel and commerce opportunities in and outside of NYS for New Yorkers. Users can securely upload their verified COVID-19 vaccination credentials to travel through American Airlines to Greece, France, Spain, Italy, and the Bahamas, and on indirect flights to El Salvador, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, and Puerto Rico.   • City Workforce Vaccination or Test Mandate: Beginning September 13th, every NYC government employee will need to either be vaccinated for COVID19 or undergo weekly testing. Two groups are going sooner: August 2nd for employees of NYC Health + Hospitals and employees working in Department of Health and Mental Hygiene clinical settings, and August 16th for City government employees working in congregate, residential setting.

  • Dr. Dave A. Chokshi, the commissioner of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, reminded that even if people have been previously infected with COVID, they should get vaccinated once they have recovered. Vaccination will strengthen the protection that people will receive, and it may further extend that duration of their immunity as well.

  • NYC is now offering in-home COVID-19 vaccinations to any City resident who requests one. Any New Yorker requesting in-home vaccination will now have the option to request their vaccine brand preference (Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson). Learn more: on.nyc.gov/inhomevax

  • Beginning August 2, the City will require employees of NYC Health + Hospitals and employees working in Department of Health and Mental Hygiene clinical settings to provide either a one-time verification of immunization, or weekly proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

  • Mayor de Blasio today announced that the City is expanding post-tax season NYC Free Tax Prep services to help New Yorkers who need to file their taxes or use the IRS’ non-filer tool to claim the Advance Child Tax Credit. In the coming weeks, NYC Free Tax Prep will be adding multiple options to file for free, including virtual, drop-off and in-person services.   • Mayor de Blasio today updated that on a seven-day average, NYC’s new reported cases as of Yesterday, 7/13, was 407 cases, and percentage of people testing positive citywide was increased to 1.33 percent.   • Governor Cuomo today announced that all New Yorkers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for July.   • The State Department of Health is urging all eligible New Yorkers to get vaccinated as soon as they are able, as those who are unvaccinated have the greatest risk of becoming seriously ill from COVID-19.   • The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is announcing the closure of the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. Those applicants who have not received funding will have their applications held within the application platform to allow for processing in the order received if additional funds are provided by Congress. The RRF application platform will remain open for the next two weeks to allow applicants to check their status, address payment corrections, or ask questions.  The SBA will disable access to the platform on July 14, 2021.

  • The final-round winners of the 'Get A Shot to Make Your Future' incentive has been announced: https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-announces-fifth-round-winners-get-shot-make-your-future-incentive

  • Reminder: The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is still accepting applications. There are no immigration status requirements to qualify for the program.   • The IRS will pay half the total Child Tax Credit in advance monthly payments. You will claim the other half when you file your 2021 income tax return. On July 15th, payments will start to be sent out and will continue through the rest of the calendar year at $250 per child between 6-17 or $300 per child under 6.   • Governor Cuomo today announced 9 new pop-up vaccination sites, including 5 in NYC, will open at or near early voting locations, focusing on areas where zip code data shows the vaccination rate is lower than the statewide average: on.ny.gov/3cOm9NR

  • New Yorkers who suspect fraud in the vaccine distribution process can now call 833-VAX-SCAM (833-829-7226) toll-free or email the state Department of Health at STOPVAXFRAUD@health.ny.gov. Hotline staff will route complaints to the appropriate investigative agencies to ensure New Yorkers are not being taken advantage of as the State works to vaccinate the entire eligible population.

    • If you are a minor under the age of 18, you must have your parent or guardian call to book the trip on your behalf.
